artMbassy Gallery - Berlin - Deutschland
.
artMbassy was founded by Chiara Erika Marzi in April 2005 as a gallery for contemporary arts situated in the very centre of Berlin between the Museumsinsel and the Hackescher Markt.
For artMbassy Tim Lange, Judith Metz and Alexandra Strüven form the well-chosen group of main curators that is partly supported by associated curators such as Julie August, Eberhard Bosslet or Christian Malycha. As different as these personalities are all the more diverse are their approaches to contemporary art which the gallery clearly incorporates within its concept and program.
The team shares both work and success – this modern and flexible working method provides enough room for those involved to launch into their own activities and further cultural projects. artMbassy thus sees itself as a platform of artistic exchange and debate that is permanently enriched by individual viewpoints and very different perspectives of artists, curators and the public.
Through collaboration with associated curators and cultural institutions aswell as by participating in art fairs one of artMbassy’s important aims is achieved: exhibitions that enable the vivid interaction of connoisseurs and collectors from other cities, countries and even cultures.
Therefore new foundations of further artMbassy galleries in Germany and abroad are planned for the years 2006/2007. The Berlin gallery will function furthermore as a home base to establish an interactive network between these satellite galleries.
The objective is to bring about an exchange between the Berlin artists and those artists involved with the satallites of artMbassy in the rest of the world. These new establishments expose the artists to new audiences and foster contacts to new groups of collectors and purchasers.
artMbassy offers widespread perspectives on the different genres of contemporary art by both new and established artists.

The exhibitions at ABEL Neue Kunst debate the conditions of producing art in an age of dissolving cultural and media boundaries. Compearable to the advocats of Pop Art, the common thread of the gallery-artists is not to merely focus on the portrayal or interpretation of an immediate actuality, but rather to concentrate on the reflection of a reality, which is itself fragmented and determined by the media.

Galerie Barthelmess & Wischnewski - Berlin - Deutschland
.
When we opened our gallery in November 1990 (then at the Gendarmenmarkt,
right in the middle of former East-Berlin), the reunification of Germany was only
one month old. We were actually the first gallery that started its business in the
“new East” of Berlin.
From the beginning we focused on paintings and graphic art of the late 19th and
early 20th century. We were especially concerned about the long forgotten Berlin
art of this time, which we presented in numerous exhibitions as well as in several
collaborations with museums and art collections in Germany and abroad.
In addition we turned our attention to the “rediscovery” of almost forgotten artists,
quite a few of whom had their first one-man-show at our gallery.
For instance, the posters of Reinhard Hoffmüller were first exhibited here – some of
them are now in the collection of the Kunstbibliothek Berlin as well as in the Museum
of Modern Art, New York. The work of Heinrich Basedow, one of the founding
members of the Berlin Secession, was also exhibited here for the first time in more
than sixty years. He has since become a „household name“ to collectors, joining
other artists we introduced in our gallery, such as Kurt Haase-Jastrow, Johannes
Rudolphi, Elisabeth Andrae, Hans Hartig, Wilhelm Wagner, Mathilde Kliefert-Gießen
or Elisabeth Büchsel.
The gallery has also repeatedly exhibited the work of internationally renowned
artists who lived and worked between 1880 and 1930: Nicolas Tarkhoff, Pierre
Bonnard, Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen, Heinrich Zille and - Henri de Toulouse-
Lautrec, whose graphic work was presented at our gallery in 1994, for the first time
since the 1920ies in a sales exhibition.
In autumn 2003 we moved into a vast and impressive flat on Giesebrechtstsr. 10/
corner Kurfürstendamm. Built in 1904, it perfectly matches the art we are
presenting.
Here we continue to make the long neglected Berlin art of 1900 known to a wider
public. There is still a lot to discover in this field – and we are looking forward to it.

AMT Gallery Berlin - Berlin - Deutschland

ATM operates as a translator and mediator of Art presented in an urban environment. Its aim is to draw attention to the energetic expressions of an international street-art scene. in the space of a gallery.
ATM shows a broad selection of art works created by international urban artist and invites its visitors to take part in the visual language of an urban surrounding, instead of leaving it to the street where it can only be acknowledged by some. In monthly changing exhibitions ATM shows different positions of urban, street- and graffiti artists and their impressive varieties of skills. ATM is not interested in taking streetart from the streets and establishing it as an art form in the white cube of contemporary art – instead ATM likes to awaken an awareness and tolerance of the art form.
At the same time ATM supports urban artists by helping them to earn money by selling their works which enables them to continue working in the urban space. Next to supporting international projekts ATM mainly concentrates on supporting local groups and artists who work in Berlin at the moment.

Galerie ART CRU Berlin - Berlin - Deutschland
.

The presentation of East German photographers such as Arno Fischer, Ursula Arnold, Helga Paris, Uwe Steinberg, Barbara Berthold, Ulrich Wüst, Christian Borchert and Manfred Paul has been a specific aim of the gallery from the beginning.Discovering young photographers is as much a feature of the gallery programme as presenting the work of internationally acclaimed photographers.
