In January, 2006, Marilyn Murdoch opened Guestroom, a new concept in exhibiting art. Guestroom features selections of work as seen through the eyes of some of the city's most important and well-known artists, collectors, curators and galleries. As the name implies, Guestroom is an inviting presentation of constantly revolving exhibits chosen by guest curators. As well as Guestroom Gallery, Marilyn owns three other art services organizations in Portland, Oregon--Katayama Framing, Murdoch Collections and Artery. Guestroom's floating exhibit concept operates out of two locations to showcase different guest curators' styles. Guestroom is at ARTERY in N. Portland as well as Katayama and Murdoch Collections' homebase in NW Portland's industrial area. Artery is a custom and DIY frame shop specializing in creating one of a kind, mind-blowing frames for your artwork and is located at 4114 N. Vancouver Avenue {at Mason} in Portland. So come by and see what we've been up to, and get inspired to frame your artwork yourself, too.
