Since 1971, Mongerson Gallery has specialized in paintings and sculpture from our country's Westward Expansion. Along with this specialty, other related fields, such as Sporting, American Impression, Early Moderns and Contemporary have been a focus within our collection.
In 1985, Rudolf G. Wunderlich, former President of Kennedy Galleries, joined Mongerson Gallery to form Mongerson Wunderlich Galleries. Mr. Wunderlich was recognized as the leading authority on American Western paintings and sculpture. During his career, he has appraised a number of museum works for such institutions as; The Frederic Remington Museum, The C.M. Russell Museum, The Thomas Gilcrease Museum, The Chicago and New York Historical Societies, The Art Institute of Chicago and many others. He has served on both the White House and the Vatican purchasing committee and was an art advisor for the Internal Revenue Service. He has been an active member on both the Frederic Remington and C.M. Russell advisory committees.
