Galerie Bob van Orsouw present and promote international and Swiss contemporary art, showcasing established artists and newcomers alike. Galerie Bob van Orsouw hold solo and group shows, work with international guest curators and institutions, participate in international art fairs, and publish art catalogs and artists’ monographs.
Galerie Bob van Orsouw started in a private apartment in 1988. Two years later, having transferred to an old factory building, it became a public space. Six years on, in 1996, Galerie Bob van Orsouw again relocated – to more spacious premises at the former Löwenbräu brewery. From 2007 to 2009, the gallery temporarily operated a parallel venture, “Suzie Q Projects” in Zurich, specifically intended to promote young international contemporary art. While the historic Löwenbräu brewery underwent a complete overhaul from 2010 until 2012, Galerie Bob van Orsouw set up a provisional space called “Hubertus Exhibitions”. The summer of 2012 saw the return of Galerie Bob van Orsouw to newly renovated – and larger – premises in the Löwenbräu Complex, one of Europe’s leading venues for contemporary art, vibrant home also to Kunsthalle Zurich, Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst and several other galleries.
