Founded in 1957, Meredith Long and Co. was one of the first art galleries in the nation to champion the rebirth of interest in 19th and 20th century American Art. The gallery has hosted important exhibitions of paintings by Childe Hassam, Frederic E. Church, Mary Cassatt, Helen Frankenthaler and Kenneth Noland, among others. The gallery has held group exhibitions introducing significant young and mid-career artists and represents an important group of contemporary artists of regional and national stature. In addition to dealing with museums, Meredith Long and Co. has been instrumental in the formation of many important private collections.
