On 11th October the René Lacoste Foundation celabrated the end of its first year.
It was by passion that René Lacoste chose tennis, turning his back on promising scientific studies. The passionate, fiercely hard-working and talented man that he was put sport in the very foreground of his values in life. During his existence, this great champion, but also this great man, never ceased to share this passion for sport, committed to giving several young people in his entourage their chance and often following them personally.
By creating the René Lacoste Foundation today, on the tenth anniversary of his death, the family business that is Lacoste SA wishes to pursue the works of its founder, in the respect of his values and sporting ideals.
The main ambition of the René Lacoste Foundation, attached to the Fondation de France, is to help young people from all over to find a new way through sport, to help them discover team spirit, motivation, how to surpass themselves, and a fighting spirit while respecting the adversary and in this way, passing on the values in which René Lacoste believed so strongly.
