The Robert Bowman Gallery at 12 Duke Street St James’s specialises in sculpture from 1830 to 1920 and is the foremost gallery in the world for sculpture by Auguste Rodin. We are open Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, the Robert Bowman Gallery shares the entire building with the internationally recognised Old Master painting expert Derek Johns.
Robert was formerly Director of European Works of Art at Sotheby’s. In 1992 Robert left the auctioneers to set up his own gallery, with his wife Michele. The business is now firmly established as one of the world’s leading sculpture galleries, offering a high level of expertise and a selection of museum quality works of art for sale.
Robert Bowman Modern deals in sculpture from 1950 to the present day. The gallery is located at 34 Duke Street St James’s, London, opposite the Cavendish Hotel and next-door to the famous Green’s Restaurant. We are open Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm. The gallery is managed by Abby Hignell and specialises in Modern British Sculpture and a range of the finest contemporary sculpture.
The Modern Gallery has placed numerous works in major international institutions, including The Frederik Meijer Museum, The Vero Beach Museum of Art, The Het Depot and The Laurence Graff Collection.
In between solo shows with our select stable of contemporary sculptors, our general exhibitions include examples by 20th century master sculptors whose work we admire, including Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Archipenko, Michael Ayrton and Elizabeth Frink.
