Artiscope - Brussel

Established in 1977, Artiscope is located on the ground floor of a typical Belgian, fully renovated, town house in the area of the European Union headquarters.
Every year, the gallery holds five temporary exhibitions and attends two art fairs in Belgium, France or Italy. Artiscope specializes in American and European contemporary art and deals with highly selective, museum quality art works.
Thanks to the Italian origins of Artiscope’s manager Zaira Mis, the gallery has built strong relationships with the protagonists of the most important movements in the Italian art of the last decades: from Arte Povera Boetti, Paolini, Penone, Pistoletto and from Transavanguardia Chia, Clemente, Cucchi, Paladino. Emerging artists like the Spanish Bernardì Roig, the American Ronald Victor Kastelic and the Italian Enrico De Paris are also regularly exhibited.
Artiscope has frequently collaborated with public institutions in organizing important exhibitions of contemporary art in Belgian and foreign museums (Musée d’Art Moderne, Musée d’Ixelles et Musée Horta, Bruxelles, PMMK, Oostende, Museum voor Sierkunst, Gent, Belveder, Prague, Noordbrabants Museum, s'Hertogenbosch…).
Acting as an editor, Artiscope has published many catalogues and art books of major artists (Enzo Cucchi, Mimmo Paladino…). For the last few years Artiscope has been very successful in proposing monumental sculptures for public and private spaces (Mauro Staccioli, Sandro Chia and Mimmo Paladino among others).
