Colnaghi - London - UK

Located in Old Bond Street in the heart of London’s art market, Colnaghi was one of the first galleries to be established in Europe. Colnaghi specialises in Old Master paintings and drawings from the fifteenth to the nineteenth centuries, and its clients include museums and collectors from all over the world. The gallery provides an impressive viewing space and a studious atmosphere for all its visitors – collectors, students and academics alike – where several exhibitions are held annually.
In 2002 the Old Master dealers Konrad Bernheimer and Katrin Bellinger joined forces under the umbrella of Colnaghi in London. Both dealers have long-established galleries in Munich which continue to thrive - Bernheimer Fine Old Masters, renowned for Old Master paintings and Katrin Bellinger Kunsthandel, specializing in Old Master drawings. This partnership has realized many important acquisitions and sales since its inception and continues to maintain Colnaghi’s reputation as one of the pre-eminent international dealerships in Old Masters.
One of the Gallery’s greatest treasures is the comprehensive art reference library, which has been on site at 15 Old Bond Street since the gallery moved to these premises over fifty years ago. The Colnaghi Library covers the history of Western art, focusing particularly on paintings, drawings and prints from the Renaissance through to the nineteenth century. Of particular importance is the Library's vast collection of auction catalogues, which extends back to the mid-eighteenth century. This collection is closely linked to the Colnaghi archives, which systematically document the history of the firm, and the works of art which have passed through it since it's founding in 1760.

Barbara Behan - London - UK

Dedicated to contemporary artists, Barbara Behan opened its doors in 2003 close to Tate Britain in Pimlico. Subsequently, the gallery has established an international platform for an artistic scene that hitherto had been almost completely absent from galleries in London.
The cosmic chaos of Europe's Informale experiences of the 1950s and movements such as Spazialismo, Arte povera and Movimento Nucleare opened up a new artistic language for the decades to follow. Barbara Behan's space has traced the progression of these languages and given voice to some of the most original, emerging and established artists, to contrast and compare generations and artistic experiences whilst paying homage to the artists' historic, cultural and artistic roots.
The gallery's portfolio emphasizes the younger generation of international artists whose focus on existence itself is explored by re-examining issues such as form, time, light, space, colour and surface, or, as in other instances myth, history, politics and science. Widely divergent and individual, all of the artists share a profound concern with contemporary life and culture whilst not forgetting past cultures and the artistic research from whose observation one can only learn in order to progress.
Painting, sculpture, graphic art, photography, video and installations feature in solo exhibitions or thematic group shows, highlighting a particular research of artistic language and/or a common experience of existence and rapport between the protagonists.
The Victorian townhouse extending over three levels has a unique atmosphere and character that gives historic resonance to contemporary works, representing a unique point of reference for collectors and private and public galleries.

John Bennett is a long standing London Art dealer with over thirty years experience of the international Fine Art Market.
For the first ten years of this career, he worked in the paintings’ department of one of the principal London auction houses covering periods from the 15th to early 20th centuries. Towards the end of this period, he was Head of the Paintings Department, responsible for the appraisals, valuations, cataloguing and auctioning of the sales.
John then worked with a well-known London Old Master Paintings’ dealer before setting up his own business in 1986. Initially he worked mainly with 16th to late 18th century British and European paintings but when he took on a gallery in Walton Street, Chelsea, London, in the second half of the 1990’s, he diversified into holding more British Sporting paintings as well as pictures from other periods and of different subject matter.
When the lease on the gallery was near its end, John decided to return to dealing by appointment with his established clients and exhibiting at International Fine Art Fairs such as the prestigious British Antique Dealers’ Association (‘BADA’ of which he is a member) annual Fair in Chelsea, London and the Olympia Fine Art Fairs in Kensington, London.
John Bennett specialises in oil paintings from the 17th, 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries with a large part of his stock being British but also including examples from France and elsewhere in Europe and some by American artists. There is still an emphasis on Sporting paintings but landscapes, marines, 18th century trompe l’oeils, still-lifes, and portraits are also available.
Clients who wish to enquire further about any particular work can be given information based on considerable experience and knowledge built up over more than three decades assessing tens of thousands of paintings during that period.

Galerie Pascal Janssens - Gent - BEL

Young Gallery - Brussel - BEL

Pascal Young opened his first gallery in June 2000, presenting a collection of photographs chosen for their formal and contemporary spirit.
His first exhibition, which presented portraits of stars by renowned Paris Match reporter Claude Azoulay (France), was a great success.
Along with the Andreas H. Bitesnich (Austria) exposition in February 2003, Pascal inaugurated his second gallery, located at the rear of the first within a quaint interior court. The subsequent raise in exhibition space (250m2) now provides the opportunity to showcase additional works, or works of greater size. The art is offered to an increasing number of people interested in photography at exhibitions which have now become events in their own right in Brussels.
In 2004, the Gallery exhibited a lot of international photographers, like: Charlotte March (Germany), William Claxton (USA), Greg Gorman (USA), Bruno Bisang (Switzerland) and Thomas Eigel (Germany).
The program for 2005 was also very interesting. We saw among other things: Mark Seliger (USA), Vincent Fournier (France), Richard Gere (USA)…
In October 2005, Young gallery moved to the Conrad Hotel (Wiltcher's Place) in the center of Brussels.
The vocation of the Young Gallery is therefore to honour and reveal today’s photographers - whether they are confirmed artists or recently discovered talents exercising their gift in colour or black and white - by offering them six exhibitions a year. The Gallery opened with the exceptional exhibition of Patrick Demarchelier (France).
In 2006 and 2007, the exhibitions of Nick Brandt (USA), David Drebin (Canada), David Burdeny (Canada) and Albert Watson (Scotland) scored a big success.
In 2008, the gallery exposed other very interested artists, like : Florian Böhm (Germany), Josef Hoflhner (Austria) and Daniel and Geo Fuchs (Germany).T
In 2009, the gallery exposed David Burdeny with his "Icebergs". You will see the exhibitions of Michel Comte in May, Floriane de Lassée and Ambroise Tezenas in september and the Nick Brandt' s new work in november.

think.21 gallery - Brussel - BEL

Located in the heart of Brussels, think.21 gallery aspires to be a beacon discussing the complexities and diversities of contemporary artistic creation through its careful selection of Belgian and international artists.
think.21 follows closely all developments in art while paying close attention to artistic creation inspired by and conveyed through new media. For think.21 new media art is not an artform solely exploring its digital and technologically complex nature. It is also closely affiliated to the evolution of contemporary art and is preoccupied by the same current universal themes.
Taking into account the diversity of new technologies and their specific impact on the visua arts, one is bound to study the ensuing hybrid of forms. The result is a body of work exhibited by think.21 that embraces artworks carrying the marks of the “traditional” language of painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, etc, with artworks that have a straight-forward digital characte. Furthermore, think.21 does not fail to keep a close eye on the general artistic production and does not hesitate to widen its scope of vision in order to exhibit strong, but with no digital affiliation, work.
think.21 is supporting young creators as well as more established artists in their practice. What distinguishes the project is that it combines an exhibition space, a residence and a production studio, offering logistical and financialsupport to the artists in its roster. Specific projects are therefore developed, especially designed for exhibitions in the gallery space where scenography plays a major role think.21 wishes to be a space of creation, reflection and discovery of new artistic forms. An editorial project adds to the programming and documentation on topics addressed is available to visitors. A fresh look, experimentation and quality guide the gallery’s research and artistic choices.
The identity of think.21 is deliberately flux and in permanent development. The leitmotiv is to allow the public, including beginners, amateurs and collectors, to discover the most stimulating concentration of today’s artisticcreation.
