The DeSantos Gallery opened its doors in its current location in 2003 in a newly constructed stucco and glass building designed by architect Fernando Brave located in a rapidly evolving artistic area next to the Menil Museum and the University of St. Thomas and near the Houston Museum District. The DeSantos Gallery is composed of a main show room at street level and a second level which is home to fine art photography studio belonging to LADS Photography.
The DeSantos Gallery represents both American and International photographers with particular interest in Spanish fine art photography. Photographers and photographic materials are chosen solely on the owners and Artistic Director’s vision of Fine Art Photography as a unique fine art form of the 20th and 21st century and not because trendy currents that are self limited. The DeSantos Gallery also provides photographic art consulting services to both individuals and businesses.The DeSantos Gallery has a strong knowledge in regards to making the right decisions regarding photography purchases and placement.
The DeSantos Gallery represents artists but also shows work on consignment. The gallery’s inventory is eclectic, varied, international, and evolving. The DeSantos Gallery is committed to fine art photography and its advancement as a distinct form of fine art and to this extent, the gallery will organize lectures by critics, collectors and photographers themselves.
The gallery accepts portfolios for review. The portfolios can be submitted by mail or digitally and must be accompanied by an artist statement. The portfolios will be reviewed by the gallery and if necessary additional information will be solicited from the artist. Materials will be returned only if arrangements are made by the artist.
