James Reinish & Associates - New York - USA

.
James Reinish & Associates, Inc. are private dealers who maintain a by-appointment gallery in a townhouse in Manhattan's Upper East Side. The gallery is one of few specializing in both American and European painting, sculpture, and works on paper between 1850 and the present day, with a primary focus on the period 1900-1980. James Reinish and Director Ann Yaffe Phillips have worked as dealers and advisors in the art market cumulatively for over 60 years. James Reinish founded the gallery in 1993 in partnership with Martha Parrish, who retired from the business in 2008.

The gallery has established its greatest following in the area of late 19th and early 20th Century American painting and sculpture; and has recently developed an inventory of Post-War Contemporary art.

The gallery has placed significant works by artists such as Milton Avery, Thomas Hart Benton, Stuart Davis, Marsden Hartley, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Joan Mitchell, Elie Nadelman, Georgia O'Keeffe and Mark di Suvero in major American museums and private collections. A number of institutions have also chosen to deaccession important works through the gallery. While the gallery inventory is heavily American, one might also find works by the Impressionist or European Modernist painters and sculptors.
